Responsibility//Leadership with Seth
This project answers the prior question raised on how do I become a leader without being in a position of power and being at the bottom of a organization. Here is my list of 25 ways to take on responsibility without authority.
Leading by example.
Share my thoughts and experiences with team members.
Be receptive and open to others ideas.
See the possibilities in others ideas; not how they won’t work, but how they will work.
Take actions you know will help other, before someone ask. They may never ask.
Create an environment where people are open to share with you and ask for help.
Don’t take myself so damn serious, Rule #6
Practice goal setting
Practice vision casting, of where I am, and where I need to be.
Don’t dictate a final solution for my team, let them arrive to the solution on their own.
Ask open-ended question of my team.
Produce and ship my work. I need to ship more work!
Accept failures, take responsibility and move forward.
Follow my gut and take risk
Lean and leap forward
Making change is the goal
Claim where I am headed to my team
Establish the culture and reinforce it. It’s everything
Reward people that have enrolled with me
Recognize people that enroll with me
Ensure my team knows that I’m on the journey with them, its their journey just as much mine.
Trust my team and ensure they have the tools and training they need.
It is personal, but not when I fail. Not all ideas will work, keeping moving.
Remember that I can be a leader in any position. Bottom of the chopping block or CEO. Take responsibility in everything I do!
